![]() For me, and a lot of people, endings are very important because it solidifies a conclusion for the story and leave as little unresolved questions as possible. To be honest, I'm not mad with this ending - I'm more disappointed at the lack of explanation about how the virus came to be, and how these beings that merge zombies to become a collective mind, came to be. I was hoping for an ending that resolved many of these questions about the zombie virus, but we are left with an open-ended ending where we see Hideo still defending his life from the zombies. The problem was that it was never explained why this happened and I was disappointed about that. I guess the author wanted to do something interesting, and that's fine. This concept of a being that absorbs zombies to create a collective mind is very weird. Note: Was nominated for the 3rd, 4th and 5th Manga Taishō and won the 58th Shogakukan Manga Award in General category in 2013.What I am unsatisfied about is the later chapters, where Hideo is essentially alone again and his companions have all combined with a being that absorbs the zombies. However, as hard as Hideo may try, the world seems to have a different set of plans for him sinister and dark machinations that completely overturn his reality as he knows it. Hideo Suzuki is a thirty-five year old mangaka assistant struggling to be the hero in his own life by breaking back into the lime light with a new serial all the while juggling his relationship with his girlfriend and his own delusions. Who is this man? Is he really the hero for 'I Am A Hero'? How can a coward save the world? The man starts to feel safe and waits until dawn before he goes to sleep. Surrounded by his favorite manga to protect him and accompanied by his most prized possession. The man then stays up until early morning out of his irrational fear. He then hears news about an accident in which an old man dies.įor some reason, this conjures up thoughts of heroism in the man. A boy he calls Yashima, He has an active imagination and is easily scared of the paranormal. His mind conjures up an imaginary friend to whom he speaks to from time to time. He is quite goofy and seems to live alone. A man comes home to his apartment late at night.
